Pádraig McAuliffe BCL graduated from UCC in 2004 is a PhD candidate in UCC, completing a Doctorate on transitional justice in East Timor. He has played a leading role in the student movement in UCC, serving as President of both the Societies Guild (2004/2005) and the Students’ Union (2005/2006). In 2004 he was awarded the title of UCC Scholar and was awarded the Peel Prize for academic excellence and contribution to student life. At the moment, he is a Government of Ireland Scholar. Pádraig intends to pursue a career in either the civil service or academia at the end of his PhD.
His interests include travel, film, football and reading. When not engaged in the activities above, he can be found buried somewhere in the Boole Library researching the plight of the East Timorese
